Well folks, you wanted change so now you have it. President Obama (as if
those two words aren’t scary enough together) has determined the the all
powerful government of the United Socialist States of America should determine
salaries of supposedly free market corporations.
Minimum wage was one step in this direction, now you have another cap on
top. Now you know what you are allowed to earn or at least you will when
the new Chavez of the US is done.
This should be setting off everyone’s alarm, but most people don’t see
it as a problem since they think that it won’t directly affect them.
I’ll let you in on a little secret. It will affect everyone in America
and everyone in the world. The income tax started off with the same
promises. "Oh, only the richest people will have to pay this new fangled
income tax, so don’t you worry your little head about it." Now everyone
pays taxes on their income (is supposed to anyway).
This is what happens when you give one group complete control over your
government. They don’t have to respond to the needs of the people and
they have lost track of the way government is supposed to work.
Government in America isn’t intended to tell the people what they can
and can’t do. It’s the other way around. We were supposed to tell them
what they had the power to do, but they have taken that away and
educated the children of America to believe that this is the way it’s
supposed to be.
Socialism. The new standard for American government. Get used to it or
do something about it. Time is short. You won’t have the legal right to
complain about it if we keep heading in the direction we are going in.
Wait until the tax bill comes for that decision. Perhaps Americans won’t be so hip to it when their cigarettes are $15 a pack and 50% of their earnings go to government…. Sounds like Canada eh?
Are American’s becoming socialists? I don’t they want to be – but I do believe they are becoming snared by it.
I do believe that a growing number of Americans have no idea what real socialism is. I also believe a growing number of Americans have no clue what the consequences of socialism is. Many young people have never experience 17% interest rates and hyperinflation brought on by the Carter years.
So guess what…. They get to learn what the older generation learned a couple from the 70′s…. Isn’t youth great?
Browsing around – I’ve seen hundreds people try to define what socialism is, few of them accurate.
“spreading the wealth around” is not socialism. That’s simply screwed up taxation.
Socialism is when government takes ownership away from a business owner and then decides what’s fair for everyone… You no longer own… you simply receive your “allotment”. Boy does that sound lfun..
Unfortunately though, we are well on our way down that path…..
When government officials – like Obama or his underlings – presume to fire a CEO and hire someone in it’s place…… an act that has no basis in law….. you are well on your way to socialism.
When banks beg to give bailout money back – but the government tells them they cant…. That is socialism.
When the government begins deciding what executives in a company can make… that’s socialism.
All of which have transpired in the past few months.
So the American people are going to have to decide if they are truly ready to become a slave to the state…. To be controlled, owned and rationed by the state.
How is that freedom?
Would you rather fail as a free person….. or just get by as an owned person.
