Rep. Barney Frank says excessive compensation packages for top corporate executives played a key role in the country’s financial crisis, and he wants to reign in that pay.
“I believe that the structure of compensation has been flawed,” the Massachusetts Democrat said while chairing a House Financial Services Committee hearing on Thursday.
Frank wants to develop guidelines for compensation practices, and not just for companies receiving government bailout dollars. Frank argues the problems is much wider.
Hmmm, now it seems that I’ve heard this somewhere before…
Well now, isn’t that just great of good old Barney Fagg, oops I mean Frank to remind all of us of how we got in this economic mess to begin with, it was the salaries stupid! Has anybody ever heard of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?
How ironic that one of the leading guys that caused this mess is now in charge of fixing it, nothing like being the Fox charged with guarding the henhouse and I hear he is at it again with wanting to drop requirements for getting mortgages at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, can anybody say insane?
What’s wrong with those people in Massachusetts, this bozo and the Kennedy clan treated like royalty when Joe Kennedy got his start as a bootlegger/criminal during Prohibition kind of like the way Al Capone did it but with less blood. It has to be something in the drinking water it’s the only explanation for the lack of critical thinking skills of the people up there.
