It’s not only manufacturing costs that make it difficult to manufacture in the US though.  The tax structure is just as much of a challenge.  With “evil corporations” actually trying to turn a profit and lib-progs demanding that they give away all of their profits to the government in one form or another, why would you keep your company here?

As Ayn Rand points out, you can only steal from those who earn for so long before they stop earning for you.  Then what are you going to do, start earning for yourself?  In the end that’s the only option and the only honorable thing to do anyway.

There are more than 30 companies that manufacture footwear in American, but only one athletic shoe company that still makes shoes in the United States. Boston based New Balance churns out 7 million pairs a year from five New England factories- two in Massachusetts, three in Maine.
