And so it goes that:

The United States cannot save the world. It will be fortunate to save
itself. President Bush’s proposed bailout is not simply a socialist
measure. It is an attempt to avoid a return to correct valuations. It is
an ignorant attempt, in effect, to extend the damage that has already
been done.

      Further:

“There is no use in interfering by means of a new credit expansion,”
wrote Mises. “This would at best only interrupt, disturb, and prolong
the curative process of the depression, if not bring about a new boom
with all its inevitable consequences.” When Bill O’Reilly says that the
disaster is too great, that despite his support for the free market he
sees no alternative to the government bailout plan, he is denying the
healing power of a depression. He is denying the fundamental lesson of
economics. The damage to the economic system has already occurred during
the period of false prosperity.

Our government officials are lying to themselves and to us. The false
economy and false "boom" that is created by taking money from taxpayers
and giving it away to businesses that should be allowed to fail because
they are not viable only causes an extension of the pain. Worse yet it
could cause our children to bear our pain in the name of saving our own
hides. What kind of parent does that to their children?

I believe that President Bush means well. I believe that Senator Obama
means well. They both don’t want our nation to be in the financial pain
that it’s in, but they are wrong to take away the pain without allowing
the wound to heal. The economy is damaged already by too much government
interference in markets and private enterprise. Keeping values falsely
inflated doesn’t allow the corrections needed to bring about a truly
stable economy.

My Dad arrives today. My Mom, Mother-in-Law, and oldest daughter are
already here along with my wife and the rest of my 4 children. The only
main players left out are my brother-in-law, his wife and their
daughter. Everyone is healthy and happy to be together. I wish that
everyone had it as good as we do.

So many of our people, those who ensure our safety, security and freedom
every day are still in harms way keep us safe and making sure that we
can celebrate in peace in any way we please if we so choose. They ensure
that if we don’t want to celebrate any religious holiday we have that
freedom as well. They give up so much of their own freedom and even
their individualism to join their brothers and sisters in harms way to
protect those they love and those they have never met. That’s called
dedication. That’s called Patriotism. This, my friends, is true love.
Love of family. Love of country. Love of freedom. May they always be
safe and ALWAYS feel the appreciation that we have for them. God Bless
them all. To every member of the Armed Forces of the United States of

I was listening to "The Situation Room" on CNN this afternoon as I was
driving home from work and heard someone talking about how people just
want the government to give them a hand. This person went on to say that
the "stimulus" package will give people the hand they need to get the
economy moving.

The only people who want a "hand" are the ones who have always been
waiting with their hands out for a handout from the government. The rest
of us, the majority of working Americans simply want the
government to keep its hand out of our pockets and allow us to control
our own destiny. Of course those in government have to try to be part of
the solution instead of simply doing the logical thing and getting out
of the way so that we can get ourselves moving again.

I don’t know the answer to getting the economy back on track, but I do
know that taking money from those who have earned it isn’t going to
work. It never has.

I’m afraid that the coming socialization of America is going to have to
get into full swing before the dumbmasses figure out that’s what it is,
socialism. By then it just might be too late to change it, but I don’t
see the vast majority of people in America being awake enough to what’s
going on to see it for what it is until it’s too late.

Tax Day Tea Party.

Momentum is growing around the republic for change. Change in our tax structure has been hampering business and individual success since its inception. Nothing short of a complete overhaul will repair the broken system and bring America back to its people.

Tea parties are going to be happening all over America tomorrow, Tax Day in the United States. These aren’t simple protests of over taxation. They are demands for real change. Government exists to serve the people. People don’t exist to serve government. Taxes in their current form in the United States are oppressive and hamper reward for hard work and individual effort. The harder you work, the more you earn, the more is taken from you in the name of fairness.

Fairness would dictate that the harder I work, the more reward I should receive for it. The current tax system dictates that the more I earn from my work, the higher percentage of my income should be taken from me and spent by my government on others. How is this fair?

The sheer number of tea parties scheduled for tax day is an indication of just how fed up Americans are with our current tax system. President Obama is continuing the President Bush’s spending spree and has actually increased spending to a level that cannot be sustained even in the short term. Our government is bankrupting our republic before our eyes in the name of saving it.

I believe that the Obama administration knows this and that it’s part of a plan. The Obama plan to take us from a mostly capitalist system into a more socialized system of government control of both industry and individual. If you bankrupt the current system and drive the middle class into the lower class, they will be more willing to do whatever you say to sustain themselves and their families. The plan is in motion and moving along more quickly than anyone could have imagined just a few short weeks ago.

God help us.

Welcome to the Upstate Young Republicans.

Well I’m a bit late on this one, but then again I’m glad to have a good job even if it does take me out of town too often.

The last iteration of the Greenville, SC Tea Party drew about 2,000 people so they decided to move it to a better location. It’s being put on by the Upstate Young Republicans who put on the first one.

Here’s something else that’s really cool I think. They will be serving pork barbeque and their slogan is “Pork belongs on a bun, not in a bill!” Gottaluvit.

For a president who promised honesty, integrity, and openness in his administration we sure are seeing a lot of cronies in the Great One’s administration and advisory staff.

There’s even a new joke going around about how the IRS has changed the rules on filing taxes. You only have to file your taxes if you are nominated to a cabinet position. I’m guessing that’s for Dems only, though.

He said there would be no lobbyists… yet exceptions are being made.

I’m really fed up with the way this administration is handling itself. When President Obama said the other day that he didn’t know about the tea parties, it said a lot about him. I’m still undecided if he’s lying, or if dead fish is keeping him that isolated.

Historically, when the Chief of Staff keeps such tight restrictions on access to the president they are working more for themselves than for the president. Believe it or not, Dick Cheney is regarded as one of the best Chief’s ever. He was seen as there to serve which is really what the job is supposed to be.
