China PLA officers urge economic punch against U.S. | Reuters.
BEIJING (Reuters) - Senior Chinese military officers have proposed that their country boost defense spending, adjust PLA deployments, and possibly sell some U.S. bonds to punish Washington for its latest round of arms sales to Taiwan.
Oh, but there’s no such thing as too much spending. What could possibly happen? It’s not like some foreign power could have any influence over us just because we owe them billions of dollars!
The fundamentals

On the way home from work today I was listening to Foxnews on XM and Beck played a part of one of Obama’s speeches. He was talking about his desire and plan to fundamentally change America. Now I know what I think he means by that and I really don’t like losing more freedom, and income, because of his wishes. He really doesn’t get it just as the rest of the so called progressives don’t. We need a fundamental change in leadership and more importantly a fundamental change in politics in America.
Sorry, Mr. President, there’s nothing wrong with the country. It’s guys like you who spout off about how we dumb Americans just don’t get understand your brand of socialism that are the problem. I’ll have to agree that far too many Americans don’t know their left from their right and their rights from their protections. The problem is that many of us do understand the problem and are becoming more vocal as you, Mr. President, take more and more freedom along with more and more money from individuals. The fundamental problem for you is that far to many of us do get it for you and your kind to be happy.
While I don’t agree with Objectivism as Ayn Rand does, I do believe that the basic premise of “Atlas Shrugged” is based on sound principles. When you remove the incentive for producers to produce, they will stop producing. History proves it over and over again. If you haven’t read “Atlas Shrugged“, you should. It’s very long but very well worth the time it takes to read it.
Random Thoughts

Whether reality or not, is sure seems that I always get sick on Friday and feel like crap on the weekend. Same this week. I’ve gotten a bug from my kids (hand, foot, and mouth disease) earlier in the week that didn’t affect me nearly as badly is it did them, now I have a chest cold. No fun at all on a weekend.
Is it me, or has President Obama already taken more vacations since taking office than most people take in 20 years? He seems to be picking nice vacation spots to travel - with his family in tow - to push his takeover of healthcare (and take away our freedoms).
Do that many people really drive their kids to school? My summer 13 minute drive to work becomes a 30 minute drive the day school starts back for kids. Maybe it’s a Greenville, SC thing. I don’t know.
When did we become entertainment directors for our children? If you don’t have something planned for when their plans don’t pan out, they whine and complain about being bored. Maybe I should get them a job working on a farm somewhere every time they complain about that. It sure kept me busy when I was a kid.
Why do people buy lottery tickets expecting to win eventually while never believing they will be in an auto accident or struck by lightning when the former is much more likely than both the latter?
Is there anyone left in government who doesn’t believe that it’s the government’s job to run every aspect of our lives?
Does anyone except those claiming to be improving the economy actually see the economy improving any?
Bill would give president emergency control of Internet

Bill would give president emergency control of Internet | Politics and Law - CNET News.
CNET News has obtained a copy of the 55-page draft of S.773 (excerpt), which still appears to permit the president to seize temporary control of private-sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency.
BE AFRAID! BE VERY AFRAID! This administration and the Democrats are doing their best to remove free speech from every aspect of American life. They are making more moves every day to make it a reality.
If this weren’t enough, the FCC now has a “Diversity Officer” in charge of what? Making sure that the Left’s views are heard and everything else is censored.

Health care protests ‘clearly being orchestrated,’ senator says - CNN.com.
I’m sure that both sides orchestrate disruptions in town hall meetings and I have to agree that it does more harm than good. If you want to complain and boy do we have good reason to complain about this, do it in a respectful way. Respectful of others who have an opinion as well and respectful of the Senator or Representative that you are speaking to.
You really can’t expect someone to take you seriously if you’re a raving maniac, now can you? I certainly wouldn’t. When you go to these meetings, think about how much more you will accomplish if you take a bunch of like minded people with you and fill the room with voters who oppose governmental control of your healthcare. Congress does take this seriously. They want to get reelected. If they see their district or their state vocally opposing what they are pitching, they will switch pitches.
Not that long ago there was a terrible amnesty bill up before Congress. It caused so much of a ruckus that congress listened and it died. Now this isn’t going to die, but if we raise enough hell it can become watered down enough to not do any real damage. It’s already working to some extent, but calm complaints are the way to have your voice heard. Think about it.
So what do Barack Obama and Richard Nixon have in common?

White House Move to Collect ‘Fishy’ Info May Be Illegal, Critics Say - Political News - FOXNews.com.
The White House strategy of turning supporters into snitches when they see “fishy” information about the health care debate may run afoul of the law, legal experts say.
“The White House is in bit of a conundrum because of this privacy statute that prohibits the White House from collecting data and storing it on people who disagree with it,” Judge Andrew Napolitano, a FOX News analyst, said Friday.
“There’s also a statute that requires the White House to retain all communications that it receives. It can’t try to rewrite history by pretending it didn’t receive anything,” he said.
“If the White House deletes anything, it violates one statute. If the White House collects data on the free speech, it violates another statute.”
Napolitano was referring to the Privacy Act of 1974, which was passed after the Nixon administration used federal agencies to illegally investigate individuals for political purposes. Enacted after Richard Nixon’s resignation in the Watergate scandal, the statute generally prohibits any federal agency from maintaining records on individuals exercising their right to free speech.
This president more than any in history has feared and tried to squash dissent. If you disagree, you are the enemy and are to be feared. When will it become a crime to speak out against our great savior or should I say “Great Leader”? only time will tell I suppose. After he becomes our “Eternal President”?

House passes energy overhaul bill 219-212 - CNN.com.
Make no mistake. This will INCREASE unemployment as companies already on the brink now have another reason to move overseas where you can pollute as much as you want without consequence.
I like clean air as much as the next person. I also like being able to work, pay my bills, and feed my family. Obama’s crew is coming up with new ways every day to drive this country into its grave. This is just another nail in the coffin.
Raising taxes on struggling companies and raising the cost of energy for every American is not the way to create jobs. Obama is on some kind of power high that makes him think he can do no wrong. That is partially the fault of the media and Americans who are still drunk from his becoming president. Get over it and look at what he’s doing to the economy. The government does not create jobs. It cannot create jobs it can only take them away by passing legislation like this.
God help us.

Key House Democrat Wants More Government Say in Executive Pay
Rep. Barney Frank says excessive compensation packages for top corporate executives played a key role in the country’s financial crisis, and he wants to reign in that pay.
“I believe that the structure of compensation has been flawed,” the Massachusetts Democrat said while chairing a House Financial Services Committee hearing on Thursday.
Frank wants to develop guidelines for compensation practices, and not just for companies receiving government bailout dollars. Frank argues the problems is much wider.
Hmmm, now it seems that I’ve heard this somewhere before…
No deal yet to buy land for 9/11 memorial - CNN.com

No deal yet to buy land for 9/11 memorial - CNN.com.
(CNN) — The government is delaying legal action against Pennsylvania landowners who haven’t yet agreed to sell their land for a memorial to victims of United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, federal officials said Friday.
The government has been negotiating with several landowners since 2003 in an effort to purchase their properties near Shanksville where the hijacked jet crashed into a field, killing everyone aboard.
If final efforts at negotiations are unsuccessful, officials intend to use eminent domain to acquire the property. That right allows governments to take private property for public use without an owner’s consent, after paying a fair price for the land.
The government is seeking to buy 166 acres in western Pennsylvania to complete the area needed to build a memorial on 2,200 acres.
That’s right. The government is planning on buying, with our money, 2,200 acres to build a memorial to airline passengers killed in a terrorist act. I’m sure glad that my tax money is being spent wisely, aren’t you? On top of that, they are going to FORCIBLY take the land if the rightful owners won’t sell. Feeling better about your government now?

American capitalism gone with a whimper - Pravda.Ru.
Even the Russians see what Americans won’t. If this doesn’t wake you up, nothing will and from the l0oks of it. Nothing will.
Then came Barack Obama’s command that GM’s (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of “pure” free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.
So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a “bold” move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK’s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our “wise” Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.
Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper…but a “freeman” whimper.
So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set “fair” maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.
The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.
The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.
