So our “Homeland Security” department has now, under Obama, determined that our military is a threat to… who?

WASHINGTON – A newly unclassified Department of Homeland Security report warns against the possibility of violence by unnamed “right-wing extremists” concerned about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on firearms, abortion and the loss of U.S. sovereignty and singles out returning war veterans as particular threats.

The report, titled “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment,” dated April 7, states that “threats from white supremacist and violent anti-government groups during 2009 have been largely rhetorical and have not indicated plans to carry out violent acts.”

However, the document, first reported by talk-radio host and WND columnist Roger Hedgecock, goes on to suggest worsening economic woes, potential new legislative restrictions on firearms and “the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.”

What a slap in the face!  Those protecting us from rogue nations and terrorists abroad are now being singled out by our own government as possible terrorists?!?!  Where, Mr. President, do you find these people?

Find a tea party near you and attend to show your support.

So you’re a Christian, but you support partial birth abortion; you agree to give a speech a a religious institution, but you ask that all religious symbols be hidden from view.

It only makes sense if you are a liberal.

Please consider their motivation: it is not money but rather to regain control of their waters from over-fishing and the dumping of toxic wastes by almost all European nations who have refused to stop their people. The dumping is killing their waters and their ability to survive.

This is a comment on a story about pirates attacking a U.S. cargo ship.  I’m guessing he has his Obama underwear, bunny slippers, and democratic underground bathrobe on (with his moveon.org pin securely attached).

The story explains that the pirates were paid $80 million last  year by shipping companies for the return of their ships, crew, and cargo, but this guy thinks it’s about keeping toxic waste from being dumped there?  I guess all of that food on the ship they attacked would cause too many people to crap up a storm and pollute their waters.  Makes sense to me.  Of course, if they starve, then you have that little problem as well.

I wonder what it’s like to talk to this guy.  I can’t imagine knowing someone who would actually believe this kind of thing.  I can just hear his high pitched whiny voice saying: “Oh, the innocent little pirates are just trying to stop toxic waste from being dumped on them. The millions of dollars they ask for will be used to clean up the mess being made by those bad American companies.  They aren’t after the money for themselves.”  Riiiiight.

It’s only taken a short time for President Obama to give rights once only afforded Americans and those who commited crimes within the borders of the united states to just about anyone.  This sets a dangerous precident that will definitely come back to haunt us.

Well I’m a bit late on this one, but then again I’m glad to have a good job even if it does take me out of town too often.

The last iteration of the Greenville, SC Tea Party drew about 2,000 people so they decided to move it to a better location.  It’s being put on by the Upstate Young Republicans who put on the first one.

Here’s something else that’s really cool I think.  They will be serving pork barbeque and their slogan is “Pork belongs on a bun, not in a bill!”  Gottaluvit.

For a president who promised honesty, integrity, and openness in his administration we sure are seeing a lot of cronies in the Great One’s administration and advisory staff.

There’s even a new joke going around about how the IRS has changed the rules on filing taxes.  You only have to file your taxes if you are nominated to a cabinet position.  I’m guessing that’s for Dems only, though.

He said there would be no lobbyists… yet exceptions are being made.

I’m really fed up with the way this administration is handling itself.  When President Obama said the other day that he didn’t know about the tea parties, it said a lot about him.  I’m still undecided if he’s lying, or if dead fish is keeping him that isolated.

Historically, when the Chief of Staff keeps such tight restrictions on access to the president they are working more for themselves than for the president.  Believe it or not, Dick Cheney is regarded as one of the best Chief’s ever.  He was seen as there to serve which is really what the job is supposed to be.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — About 10,000 people rallied at the Bi-Lo Center in downtown Greenville to call for less government spending.

The “Tea Party” was organized by young Upstate Republicans and marked the final protest of the week.The “tea” in “Tea Party” stands for “taxed enough already.”

I’d say that would count as a success.  When you have 10,000 people show up for a protest in a city the size of Greenville, you know that you’ve gotten people excited about something.  Governor Mark Sanford spoke as well as Sen. Jim Demint and Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer.  Senator Demint has made himself known in his first term and a senator from South Carolina.  He’s been pushing for less spending and lower taxes since he arrived in Washington.  He is definitely one of the best we have up there.

I was hoping for  larger crowd than we had in February, but I never thought that it would swell to this size.  I hadn’t even heard about it until my friend Kelle Corvin put a post up on her Facebook about it tonight and by then it was almost 7:30, the scheduled end of the party.  Oh well, maybe next time.

The United States cannot save the world. It will be fortunate to save itself. President Bush’s proposed bailout is not simply a socialist measure. It is an attempt to avoid a return to correct valuations. It is an ignorant attempt, in effect, to extend the damage that has already been done.

“There is no use in interfering by means of a new credit expansion,” wrote Mises. “This would at best only interrupt, disturb, and prolong the curative process of the depression, if not bring about a new boom with all its inevitable consequences.” When Bill O’Reilly says that the disaster is too great, that despite his support for the free market he sees no alternative to the government bailout plan, he is denying the healing power of a depression. He is denying the fundamental lesson of economics. The damage to the economic system has already occurred during the period of false prosperity.

Our government officials are lying to themselves and to us. The false economy and false “boom” that is created by taking money from taxpayers and giving it away to businesses that should be allowed to fail because they are not viable only causes an extension of the pain. Worse yet it could cause our children to bear our pain in the name of saving our own hides. What kind of parent does that to their children?

I believe that President Bush means well. I believe that Senator Obama means well. They both don’t want our nation to be in the financial pain that it’s in, but they are wrong to take away the pain without allowing the wound to heal. The economy is damaged already by too much government interference in markets and private enterprise. Keeping values falsely inflated doesn’t allow the corrections needed to bring about a truly stable economy.
