U.S. senators consider options for ailing newspapers.

So, Senator Kerry. You think that the government investing in newspapers much like they have in the auto industry is a good idea… And, you say, they won’t interfere in operations much like in the auto and banking industry. But haven’t you guys been essentially running the banks since investment in them even going so far as to refuse repayment in order to keep some level of control over them?

You won’t see that question from the MSM. This is a DANGEROUS move especially considering the alleged interference from the Obamanation and alleged threats against lawyers and investment firms for not going along with Obama’s planned rescue. Newspapers are already part of the Obamanation, so it’s not like this will make very much difference if they do have control, but from a fiscal standpoint where does it end?

You are getting this money from a shrinking group. Taxpayers. As unemployment goes up, revenue for the government goes down, yet they are spending at an unprecedented rate. I don’t know about you, but I can’t afford to fund any more takeovers and bailouts and neither can my children. I would like for my children to be able to keep more of what they earn than any generation since the spending spree by government began. The Obamanation Socialist Movement is not only going to bankrupt this generation, but generations to come and taking away freedoms by the minute. It’s up to us to stop it before it’s too late. VOTE THEM OUT. Email them. Call them. Make it known that if they want reelection, they must answer to you. It’s our only hope.

The Republican Party keeps making such a mess trying to remake itself when all it has to do is get back to it’s core values minus the extreme social conservatism and we’re back in business. People don’t like either extreme. Fiscal conservatism is actually popular amongst working Americans, but the far right loudmouths are getting most of the press right now because of the OSM in the media. That’s not what the Republican Party is about, but the OSM media always seeks out the nutjobs to put on CNN and the 3 major OSM outlets plus MSNBC.

VOTE. THEM. OUT.

Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Bob Menendez […] ↓ Read the rest of this entry...

President Obama is really abusing his power and looking more and more like a Putin than an American President:

If President Obama didn’t have enough on his plate already, he’s now thrust himself into the middle of a statewide race that has sparked growing resentment among some New York Democrats.

Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) asked Obama to implore Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) against challenging Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) in the Democratic primary next year, FOX News has learned.

And the OSM moves forward. Here’s an interesting point for you:

It’s rare for a president to inject himself into statewide politics. And a host of New York political insiders with ties to several House Democrats say they’re angry that the president even got involved.

“What? You can’t have a primary? It’s decided in backroom deals?” asked a source who spoke to FOX News on the condition of anonymity. “What if someone told Obama he couldn’t have a primary and Hillary (Clinton) would just be the nominee? Where would he be? It’s an outrage.”

Obama’s power and influence continues to grow, but if you look hard enough, like in this story, you’ll see that Americans are starting to not be very happy with what’s going on within our government. Another example is this poll which states that 54% of Americans think that Obama is proposing too much of an increase in government spending. Also:

The Obama administration consistently uses the word “invest” or “investment” instead of government “spending.” Even so, most Americans don’t make the distinction as fully 78 percent say it means spending their tax dollars, not saving them.

Some days it looks like people are paying attention, yet on other days it just doesn’t.

Update: I wonder if Obama had anything to do with this. I would be surprised if he didn’t since he was buddying up to him as the great convert even though he hasn’t changed his philosophy, just his party in order to keep his seat. How sickening…

But he doesn’t want to run the auto industry. Apparently he just wants to put them out of business and make them yet another government entity.

These new cars will not be as safe. They will be more expensive for both those who don’t have any other options but to buy them (they will be all that is on the market) and taxpayers will be subsidising the industry to make the conversion. In the end, they still can’t admit that global warming is a myth and they’ve convinced enough people in government to go along that it’ll take something huge to stop it. The scary thing is that we will be paying for this for generations and putting our children into unsafe cars in the name of saving the environment from a mythical problem.

So much for freedom and free enterprise. The OSM keeps chugging along.

A poll watcher who provided an affidavit to prosecutors in the case noted that Bartle Bull, who worked as a civil rights lawyer in the south in the 1960′s and is a former campaign manager for Robert Kennedy, said it was the most blatant form of voter intimidation he had ever seen.

In his affidavit, obtained by FOX News, Bull wrote “I watched the two uniformed men confront voters and attempt to intimidate voters. They were positioned in a location that forced every voter to pass in close proximity to them. The weapon was openly displayed and brandished in plain sight of voters.”

He also said they tried to “interfere with the work of other poll observers … whom the uniformed men apparently believed did not share their preferences politically,” noting that one of the panthers turned toward the white poll observers and said “you are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker.”

Yet the department of justice dismissed the charges. Welcome to the new world that you asked for!

American capitalism gone with a whimper – Pravda.Ru.

Even the Russians see what Americans won’t. If this doesn’t wake you up, nothing will and from the l0oks of it. Nothing will.

Then came Barack Obama’s command that GM’s (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of “pure” free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a “bold” move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK’s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our “wise” Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper…but a “freeman” whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set “fair” maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

US government seeks to rein in executive pay – Yahoo Finance.

Democrats and administration officials agreed that companies across the private sector need to adjust compensation practices to avoid damaging the economy.

Gene Sperling, a counselor to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, said administration guidelines call on all publicly held companies to link compensation to long-term performance, not short-term gains.

“We believe that compensation practices must be better aligned with long-term value and prudent risk management at all firms, and not just for the financial services industry,” Sperling said.

The committee also heard from officials from the Federal Reserve and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

While the administration has approached the issue with caution, a top Republican said the plans amounted to “incessant government intervention.”

“The president cannot continue his heavy-handed meddling in the private sector and expect it to function, much less flourish,” said Rep. Tom Price, chairman of the Republican Study Committee.

More government intervention, i.e. more of the Obamanation Socialist Movement intervention into private enterprise will not help the economy. By the end of the second year of Obama in office, there will be little truly private industry left. The government will have so much control that it will in reality be a socialist economy.

They are already meddling in compensation practices with the unions which, by the way, is a major contributor to GM’s downfall and now they want more unionized policies for all businesses throughout every sector. First is executive pay being too high, next will be workers pay being too low, once that’s in complete government control, private business is dead. We are almost there now.

You got what you asked for, so now how do you dig yourself out of it?

Rep. Barney Frank says excessive compensation packages for top corporate executives played a key role in the country’s financial crisis, and he wants to reign in that pay.

“I believe that the structure of compensation has been flawed,” the Massachusetts Democrat said while chairing a House Financial Services Committee hearing on Thursday.

Frank wants to develop guidelines for compensation practices, and not just for companies receiving government bailout dollars. Frank argues the problems is much wider.

Hmmm, now it seems that I’ve heard this somewhere before…

WASHINGTON — The IRS is weighing a proposal to deem one-quarter of employees’ use of work cell phones as personal use and therefore subject to tax as a fringe benefit.

The proposal is one of several options the IRS put forward this week on the tax treatment of employer-provided cell phones. Current law already requires that the value of those cell phone services be included in a worker’s gross income, unless the employee keeps detailed records showing that the cell phone is used for work only — an idea cell phone trade groups are objecting to.

So who decides this? This is one of the dangers of giving so much power to an agency like the IRS. They can decide to change the rules and up your taxes at any time without congressional approval. They can in effect, raise your taxes with the stroke of a pen.

This is so rediculous. I’m required to have a cell phone, so my company provides it. It’s very basic service, voice only, but I do make personal calls on it. They have unlimited voice so why not? With the Obamanation in charge, they feel they can tax anything they want. He’s all about taxing those of us who are actually generating income.

June 12 (Bloomberg) — Health-care overhaul legislation being drafted by House Democrats will include $600 billion in tax increases and $400 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel said.

Democrats will work on the bill’s details next week as they struggle through “what kind of heartburn” it will cause to agree on how to pay for revamping the health-care system, Rangel, a New York Democrat, said today. The measure’s cost is reaching well beyond the $634 billion President Barack Obama proposed in his budget request to Congress as a 10-year down payment for the policy changes.

So you take an economy that’s in shambles and add more debt and taxes to those who are still working and employing people. What a wonderful way to begin the socialization of the economy. Make everyone dependent upon the government for healthcare and aid for food since you’re taxed into the poor house. Brilliance Komrade Obama! Brilliance!

House passes energy overhaul bill 219-212 – CNN.com.

Make no mistake. This will INCREASE unemployment as companies already on the brink now have another reason to move overseas where you can pollute as much as you want without consequence.

I like clean air as much as the next person. I also like being able to work, pay my bills, and feed my family. Obama’s crew is coming up with new ways every day to drive this country into its grave. This is just another nail in the coffin.

Raising taxes on struggling companies and raising the cost of energy for every American is not the way to create jobs. Obama is on some kind of power high that makes him think he can do no wrong. That is partially the fault of the media and Americans who are still drunk from his becoming president. Get over it and look at what he’s doing to the economy. The government does not create jobs. It cannot create jobs it can only take them away by passing legislation like this.

God help us.
