Liberalism, atheism, male sexual exclusivity linked to IQ - CNN.com

Liberalism, atheism, male sexual exclusivity linked to IQ - CNN.com.

It’s interesting to me how they restrict the description of liberalism and conservatism here.  It’s merely a way to pervert the findings into what they wanted the survey to say socially.

The study takes the American view of liberal vs. conservative. It defines “liberal” in terms of concern for genetically nonrelated people and support for private resources that help those people. It does not look at other factors that play into American political beliefs, such as abortion, gun control and gay rights.

“Liberals are more likely to be concerned about total strangers; conservatives are likely to be concerned with people they associate with,” he said.

This simply isn’t true.  Conservatives, in my view, are in favor or PRIVATE resources being donated VOLUNTARILY to help others.  Liberals on the other hand are more in favor or public, or governmental support taken forcibly from others, not necessarily themselves to help others.

I saw a study last year noting that conservatives gave more to charity than liberals.  One way that liberals spun this was to say that it was because of the tax benefits they received from it, not from genuine concern for their fellow man.

Of course, religion is also talked about as being for those less intelligent.  We’ll see how that turns out in the end, now won’t we?

China PLA officers urge economic punch against U.S. | Reuters

China PLA officers urge economic punch against U.S. | Reuters.

BEIJING (Reuters) - Senior Chinese military officers have proposed that their country boost defense spending, adjust PLA deployments, and possibly sell some U.S. bonds to punish Washington for its latest round of arms sales to Taiwan.

Oh, but there’s no such thing as too much spending.  What could possibly happen? It’s not like some foreign power could have any influence over us just because we owe them billions of dollars!

Clyburn: ‘We’ve got to spend our way out of this recession’ - The Hill’s Blog Briefing Room

Clyburn: ‘We’ve got to spend our way out of this recession’ - The Hill’s Blog Briefing Room.

Here’s another quote for you:

Some other Democrats have worried that without expanded spending on social programs and other elements of the budget, some people hit hardest by the recession would be disadvantaged by the budget.

In other words, how can we buy votes if you take away our spending money to buy them with?  Those dems sure to love their socialist programs, don’t they?

The fundamentals

by Steve on Feb.02, 2010, under Economy, Freedom, Obamanation Socialist Movement, Politics, Politics: National, Taxes

On the way home from work today I was listening to Foxnews on XM and Beck played a part of one of Obama’s speeches.  He was talking about his desire and plan to fundamentally change America.  Now I know what I think he means by that and I really don’t like losing more freedom, and income, because of his wishes.  He really doesn’t get it just as the rest of the so called progressives don’t.  We need a fundamental change in leadership and more importantly a fundamental change in politics in America.

Sorry, Mr. President, there’s nothing wrong with the country.  It’s guys like you who spout off about how we dumb Americans just don’t get understand your brand of socialism that are the problem.  I’ll have to agree that far too many Americans don’t know their left from their right and their rights from their protections.  The problem is that many of us do understand the problem and are becoming more vocal as you, Mr. President, take more and more freedom along with more and more money from individuals.  The fundamental problem for you is that far to many of us do get it for you and your kind to be happy.

While I don’t agree with Objectivism as Ayn Rand does, I do believe that the basic premise of “Atlas Shrugged” is based on sound principles.  When you remove the incentive for producers to produce, they will stop producing.  History proves it over and over again.  If you haven’t read “Atlas Shrugged“, you should.  It’s very long but very well worth the time it takes to read it.

Justice Dept.: President Obama’s administration may take action on BCS - NCAA Football - SI.com

Justice Dept.: President Obama’s administration may take action on BCS - NCAA Football - SI.com.

The BCS sucks, but not nearly as bad as a president who thinks it’s his place have everything in the country run to his personal satisfaction.  Obama is GREATLY over reaching his place once again.  It’s like he said a while back, having this much power really can go to your head and it obviously has with him.

Unions nab sweetheart health-care deal - NYPOST.com

Unions nab sweetheart health-care deal - NYPOST.com.

Friends in high places sure does help.  Note that this was hammered out behind closed doors, which Obama said wouldn’t happen with him in the White House. Remember his promise to have all of this televised?

Big Labor got some big love from President Obama and congressional Democrats yesterday after they agreed to exempt union workers from the whopping “Cadillac tax” on high-cost health-care plans until 2018.

The sweetheart deal, hammered out behind closed doors, will save union employees at least $60 billion over the years involved, while others won’t be as lucky — they’ll have to cough up almost $90 billion.

The 40 percent excise tax on what have come to be called “Cadillac” health-care plans would exempt collective-bargaining contracts covering government employees and other union members until Jan. 1, 2018.

Sprint Turns Over User GPS Data to Police 8 Million Times a Year | Maximum PC

Sprint Turns Over User GPS Data to Police 8 Million Times a Year | Maximum PC.

Are you worried about your rights being violated?  You are in the minority apparently if you answered yes.

Sprint, it turns out, has been routinely handing over GPS information on its customers to law enforcement for some time. So commonplace is the practice that Sprint has setup an automated system for law enforcement to check on subscriber whereabouts (apparently even without a court order).

Sprint coughed-up GPS information to law enforcement eight million times last year. Not on eight million users, Sprint is quick to point out. Rather law enforcement can request GPS information on any particular user every three minutes for up to 60 days. (After that Sprint doesn’t say what happens.)

And Sprint isn’t the only one handing out information about you.

Yahoo and Verizon also provide law enforcement access to customer information. Neither company will discuss the nature or extent of law enforcement surveillance for fear their customers would be “shocked” or “confused” by what types of surveillance law enforcement is permitted. Verizon further justifies its secrecy in the matter saying it doesn’t want to commit resources to dealing with customers that might be concerned with its practices.

The willingness, if not eagerness of companies, such as Yahoo and Verizon, and Comcast and Cox Communications, to ‘rat’ you out is easily explained: they get paid for the service they provide. Comcast, for example, in 2007 charged $1,000 for the first month of a wiretap, and $750 each month after. Cox Communications charges $2,500 for a 60-day pen register/trap-and-trace order, with each successive 60-day interval going for $2,000. Yahoo wouldn’t divulge its pricing scheme, claiming it was “confidential commercial information.” All-in-all, it’s better than 30 pieces of silver.

(Law enforcement’s activities here may well be legitimate. But how can we be certain if, as it appears, there is no system for accountability?)

White House aides: No Afghan decision before Thanksgiving

White House aides: No Afghan decision before Thanksgiving.

Arrogance shining through!

Obama arrived on the base 3:19 p.m. local time (1 a.m. Eastern Standard Time) and received a rousing welcome from 1,500 troops in camouflage uniforms, many holding cameras or pointing cell phones to snap pictures.

“You guys make a pretty good photo op,” the president said.

Standing on a riser wearing a blue suit and red tie, with a cluster of troops and a large American flag behind him, Obama expressed “the gratitude of the American public” and said his meetings in four countries over eight days in Asia will help deliver a “safer, more prosperous world for all of us.”

He got a huge cheer when he told them he was increasing military pay. “That’s what you call an applause line,” he said, before boarding his jet and taking off at 4:11 p.m.

The new wave of female firebrands striking fear into liberal America | World news | The Observer

The new wave of female firebrands striking fear into liberal America | World news | The Observer.

While Michele Bachmann may bring conservatives together and raise liberal blood pressure to the popping point, her brand of politics is sure to cost Republicans yet another presidential election if she’s the nominee.

With so much information out there about her, there’s no real way that she can paint herself as enough of a moderate to get elected.  Like it or not,  moderate candidates almost always win the presidency.  Obama is, of course, a far left liberal but he was able to get elected in no small part by people who want to feel like they aren’t racist by voting for him.  Like it or not, it’s true.  Now we are getting glimpses of his extremism but since his party has full control there’s nothing we can do but hope that we aren’t so socialized by the time they lose full power that we can’t get our freedom back.

I don’t hold out much  hope for that being the case, personally.
