I don’t understand as much about this proposal as I’d like, but from what I can tell McCain is at least partially right on it. I don’t think that any type of cap and trade system is necessary for one thing, but for another reasonable.

It gets back to the same old line. The media is beating the drum of the far left and pushing us further to the left by making knuckleheads believe global warming is real. Then they want you to believe that a huge bureacracy can buy their way out of it by charging people for everything from driving cars to running their home airconditioners or eating beef (cow farts are causing global warming you know).

I don’t know about you, but I’m sick and tired of extremists from both sides pushing their bs on the rest of us. I’m a Republican but on social issues I’m more aligned with Libertarians. Don’t tell me I can’t buy alcohol on Sunday because you don’t like it. If it’s legal on Monday, why not on Sunday? And don’t give me the whole wine wasn’t wine crap either. Read YOUR HISTORY to see where that mess came from.

Believe it or not, you can’t legislate your way to heaven any more than you can legislate anyone else to heaven or hell, though you can make their life hell here on earth. Just ask those who lived through Stalin’s rule of the great socialist experiment.

OK, I’m rambling now but since I pay the rent here and the thought police haven’t fully taken over the internet yet, I’ll say what I damn well please.

Liberalism, atheism, male sexual exclusivity linked to IQ – CNN.com.

It’s interesting to me how they restrict the description of liberalism and conservatism here. It’s merely a way to pervert the findings into what they wanted the survey to say socially.

The study takes the American view of liberal vs. conservative. It defines “liberal” in terms of concern for genetically nonrelated people and support for private resources that help those people. It does not look at other factors that play into American political beliefs, such as abortion, gun control and gay rights.

“Liberals are more likely to be concerned about total strangers; conservatives are likely to be concerned with people they associate with,” he said.

This simply isn’t true. Conservatives, in my view, are in favor or PRIVATE resources being donated VOLUNTARILY to help others. Liberals on the other hand are more in favor or public, or governmental support taken forcibly from others, not necessarily themselves to help others.

I saw a study last year noting that conservatives gave more to charity than liberals. One way that liberals spun this was to say that it was because of the tax benefits they received from it, not from genuine concern for their fellow man.

Of course, religion is also talked about as being for those less intelligent. We’ll see how that turns out in the end, now won’t we?

An alleged terrorist accused in the grisly murders of four Americans appeared in court Wednesday in Iraq. But Ahmed Hashim Abed isn’t the one on trial. Instead, he was testifying against one of the Navy Seals who arrested him last September.

Petty Officer First Class Julio Huertas of Blue Island, Illinois, is being tried at a military base on the western outskirts of Baghdad. Huertas and two other Navy Seals face charges in connection with Abed’s arrest, during which the prisoner claims he was punched and kicked by at least one of his captors.

The president should step up and put an end to this. Of course, he won’t because that’s not what liberal politicians do. You have to treat terrorists with kid gloves while you’re kissing their ass and “reaching out” to them to try to make them like you.

President Obama has been privately reaching out as he calls it to muslims and muslim organizations. This trial is nothing more than more ass kissing. He bows to a Saudi prince, he even bows to the Chinese president, but he won’t lift a finger to stop this travesty of justice. Some leader he is.

So just how is that hope and change working out for you? I certainly have hope that we can change the mess Obama has made in the short time he’s been president. It’s kinda like when you get a bad rash. It appears out of nowhere, but once the damage is done it can take a very long time, comparatively, to get rid of it again. That’s the conundrum we find ourselves in now.

FOXNews.com – Gay Lutheran Pastors to Join Church Roster.

So where does it end? Do we now admit idol worshipers into the ministry because they deserve the same respect?

Everyone should be welcomed into the church family as members with the recognition that everyone sins, but to allow leadership roles to those who blatantly defy God’s word, publicly and proudly, goes directly against what the ministry of Christ is about. You don’t put leadership in the hand of these people. Apparently there are already some in the leadership or this wouldn’t have come to fruition in the first place.

The Church isn’t about making people feel good about themselves or political correctness. It’s about doing your best to live as God has commanded and getting the support structure and guidance from others who actually try to follow the Word as well. I’ve seen this coming for a long time and as a member of an ELCA congregation it will be interesting to see how our church reacts to it. I’m afraid that it will pass with nothing more than a small rumble as so many similar problems have in the past and it saddens me greatly.

I know that we have homosexuals in our membership. Some are out and some are not. None that I know of make a ruckus about “inclusion” in anything. They come and worship as we all do. They shouldn’t be excluded from worship because we all sin every day. They also shouldn’t be recognized as leaders of the church because they blatantly practice what is forbidden by God. When man continues to hack away at God’s word and His most basic teachings, it becomes a church of man and not of God.

My dilemma is that there doesn’t seem to be any middle ground for Christian faiths. The Baptists are too far in one direction along with Catholics and it seems that most of the others are caving in to political correctness over Godly teachings. Why have we come the point where there doesn’t seem to be moderation in anything? In politics it’s the same. You are either too far in one direction or too far in the other direction. Christianity has become the same way. The ELCA for me was a happy medium, though you could see its leanings over the past several years with all of its “exploratory committees” studying whether or not you can defy the bible directly and still be accepted as a leader of the church, etc. What bullshit!

So here we are again, destroying ourselves in the name of political correctness. You cannot give in to the enemy (those trying to water down the faith) and still call yourself a worker for God. Making your neighbor happy isn’t the way to make God happy when the price is the true nature of your faith. We have been infiltrated and will fall from within. We all have our decisions to make and I can see that mine aren’t going to be easy. I’ve loved my church and my church family for 12 years now and I do not want to say goodbye, but I will if something isn’t done in response to this. I won’t be a party to financing or supporting a ministry that worries more about political correctness than staying true to the Word of God.

I used to just roll my eyes at those who said that Obama was a muslim. After everything that he’s done to kiss muslim ass since day 1 of his horrible presidency, I’m beginning to believe that he probably is a closet muslim just like he was a closet socialist. He had his big coming out party right after the election and went through his confirmation son after he actually took office.

He talks about this as if it has nothing to do with anything except freedom of religion. Make no mistake, muslims want to take over this country. If you look at how they do things, you’ll note that they like to put up their mosques where ever they have a conquest. They certainly had a big on by destroying the twin towers and now they want to put up a monument to their success in this conquest and president mohammad wants to oblige them.

BEKASI, Indonesia (AP) — Assailants stabbed a Christian worshipper in the stomach and pounded a minister in the head with a wooden plank as they headed to morning prayers Sunday outside Indonesia's capital.

Neither of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

No one claimed responsibility for the attacks. But suspicion immediately fell on Islamic hard-liners who have repeatedly warned members of the Batak Christian Protestant Church against worshipping on a field housing their now-shuttered church.

In recent months, they have thrown shoes and water bottles at the church members, interrupted sermons with chants of “Infidels!” and “Leave Now!” and dumped piles of feces on the land.

Of course, “not allowed” and “not welcome” are completely different things, now aren’t they? I’m not sure how warm of a welcome Jews would get in Saudi Arabia with their harsh laws on religion. As a Christian, I’m not sure how welcome I would be either, though. Good thing I don’t have any plans on visiting there.
